The Garden of Rest was the previous cemetery to Campsall Church and when it became full in the 1980’s it was closed and renamed the Garden of Rest.

The Parish Council were given 31 days in which to declare it had no interest in it and the responsibility for upkeep would then pass to DMBC.

However, at that time one of the Parish Councillors was the local Vicar and he persuaded the Members of the Parish Council to accept the maintenance responsibility, since that time it has been the responsibility of the Parish Council.
